LHU's LH-FOF team, Vietnam Robocon 2026 Champions, ready for ABU Robocon 2026

On August 20, 2026, LHU held a send-off ceremony for its robot team - LH-FOF, which will represent Vietnam at the ABU Asia-Pacific Robot Contest (ABU Robocon) 2026 in Hong Kong (China).

Attendees included Dr. Do Thi Lan Dai, Chairwoman of the University Council; Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Lan, Outstanding Teacher and Secretary of the University Party Committee; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lam Thanh Hien, Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Vu Quynh, Vice Rector; Dr. Huynh Cao Tuan, Vice Rector and Technical Advisor; Dr. Pham Van Toan, Dean of the Faculty of Mechatronics and Electronics; Mr. Nguyen Van Thuong, Deputy General Director of Vtourist JSC, a supporting partner; along with leaders of affiliated units, members of the Robocon Steering Committee and the competition team.

• At the ceremony, the entire team took an oath, demonstrating their spirit of solidarity, discipline, and determination to give their best performance at the major international technology competition.

The opportunity to compete at ABU Robocon 2026 is the result of months of dedicated preparation. Over nearly eight months, the team members continuously researched, designed, built, programmed, and tested their robots while developing competition strategies. Their relentless efforts helped LH-FOF win the Vietnam Robocon 2026 Championship, securing LHU’s 11th national Robocon title.

LH-FOF (Fist of Fury) represents an unyielding fighting spirit, inspired by the legacy of martial arts. With this spirit, the team aims to demonstrate determination and resilience while striving to defeat their opponents with a decisive strike.

Stepping onto the international stage, LH-FOF will compete against 16 teams from 15 countries and territories, including strong contenders from Japan and Hong Kong (China).

ABU Robocon 2026 will take place on August 23, 2026, at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium in Hong Kong (China). This year’s theme, “Kung Fu Quest”, draws inspiration from traditional martial arts and the spirit of sportsmanship. The participating teams are required to effectively combine mechanical engineering, automation, programming, and strategic skills to complete the challenges on the competition field.

For LHU, Robocon is more than just a competition. It provides students with an environment to apply their knowledge in practice while developing research skills, engineering thinking, teamwork, and the ability to respond to real-time challenges. LHU’s 11 national Robocon championships also reflect the University’s long-term and sustained investment in education and research in engineering and technology.
