Two training programs of LHU meet ABET accreditation standards

On October 18, 2023, ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) announced the accreditation results that the two undergraduate training programs of LHU - Electrical and Electronics Engineering Technology and Information Engineering Technology were recognized to meet ABET standards in a 6-year period. This recognition is a milestone in the LHU’s history, ensuring educational quality and international recognition for engineers who enroll in these programmes.

Established in the United States, ABET is an organization that evaluates and accredits academic programmes in the fields of applied sciences, computing, engineering, and engineering technology. ABET accreditation is a globally-recognized standard marking the credibility and quality of a training program.

In November 2022, the ABET evaluation teams assessed two training programmes of LHU - Electrical and Electronics Engineering Technology and Information Engineering Technology for three days, based on 9 criteria: Students; Educational Program Objectives; Student Outcomes; Continuous Improvement; Curriculum; Faculty; Facilities; Institutional Support and Program Criteria.

Achieving the ABET accreditation standards for the two above programmes not only recognizes the efforts and quality of both lecturers and students but also creates a competitive advantage in recruitment and business collaborations.
