Information about scholarships to study in Taiwan

 Currently, there are three types of scholarships to study in Taiwan for lecturers and students, specifically:   

1. Chinese Language Scholarship Taiwan Ministry of Education:

     It is a short-term Taiwanese language scholarship program for Vietnamese students

Amount18.

Scholarship standard: NT$25,000/month (~$840)

Each applicant can apply to study Chinese in Taiwan for up to 12 months; however, depending on their needs, they can apply for nine months, six months, three months, and two months of summer classes (June-July or July-August).

Application period: From February 1 to April 10, 2014.

Scholarship period in the year: from September 1, 2014 to August 31, 2015, summer class scholarship period from June 1 to August 31, 2014.

2. Taiwan Scholarship 2014:

      The Taiwan Scholarship 2014 is provided by the Ministry of Education in Taiwan. Its intent is to encourage Vietnamese outstanding students to undertake degree studies.   

Amount: 23   

Scholarship standard: Tuition (NT$40.000), undergraduate studies a monthly stipend of NT$15.000/person (~500USD), postgraduate studies a monthly stipend of NT$20.000/person (~670USD)).    

Duration of Scholarships: Undergraduate programs (4 years), Master programs (2 years), Doctorate programs (4 years).

Application periodFrom February 1 to April 10, 2014 (postmark date).

Scholarship period in the year:  from September 1, 2014 to August 31, 2015.

3. VEST Scholarship – 500:     

  This is a cooperation program with international organizations between the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training and Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City. The purpose of this program is to enroll postgraduate students in Taiwan within the implementation of the Projects on training cadres abroad of the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training.    

Amount: 60          

Scholarship standard: Vietnam is in charge of providing fees for passport, visa, a monthly stipend (as prescribed), health insurance, and a round-trip air ticket. Taiwan offers a full tuition waiver scholarship for students in the entire course.    

Scholarship Programs: Undergraduate, Master and Doctorate.

Application period: From February 1 to March 31, 2014 (postmark date).   

Scholarship period in the year: from September 1, 2014 to August 31, 2015.

Notes: In order to complete scholarship application, applicants are required to take the Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL), the required language scholarship attains a level 1; the Taiwan scholarship and the VEST attain a level 3 or higher.
