LHU participates in 2025 SWPEA: Opportunities for networking and development

Delegates including staff and lecturers from LHU recently participated and presented at the National Conference on Power Electronics and Applications (SWPEA) 2025 from February 16 to 18, 2025 in Da Lat. 

The Conference was co-organized by HCM City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE), HCM City University of Technology (HCMUT, VNU-HCM), and the Korean Institute of Power Electronics – Vietnam Chapter (KIPE-VN).

The SWPEA is an important annual event which serves as a forum for researchers, experts, and businesses to meet and exchange the latest advancements in power electronics - a key technology sector playing a crucial role in energy systems and industrial control.

The SWPEA 2025 received sponsorship from numerous reputable organizations in the electrical and electronics industry. One of the key sponsors is Dong Anh Electrical Equipment Corporation (EEMC), which recently achieved a significant milestone by successfully designing and manufacturing a 500kV-3x300MVA transformer. The collaboration of major enterprises not only contributed to the Conference's success but also opened up opportunities for research and application partnerships between academia and industry.

This year's Conference received over 40 submitted papers including 27 outstanding ones selected for presentation. These papers will be published in the next issue of the Journal of Technical Education (JTE). Notably, LHU was honored to have 3 presented papers including:

- Implementation of a Neural PI Controller for PMSM Drive Systems: FPGA-Based Modeling and Experimental Validation by Nguyen Van Minh, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Vu Quynh;

- Economic and Technical Analysis of a Hybrid photovoltaic and Fuel Cell System: Optimizing Configuration and Prospects for Green Hydrogen Development in Vietnam by Dr. Le Phuong Truong, Dr. Le Phuong Long, Dr. Bui Van Tri and Nguyen Huu Quang; 

- A proposal for Testing Fuel Cell Performance Under Resistive Loads by Dr. Le Phuong Long, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Son, Nguyen Duc Duy, Do Tin Dat, Vu Hai Dang.

Additionally, the Conference was an opportunity for young experts, students, and newcomers to learn from experienced professionals. Gaining access to cutting-edge research, new technologies, and practical applications will give them deeper insights into power electronics and a clearer direction for their career paths.

The SWPEA 2025 is an important event that fosters research and applications of power electronics in practice.
