Master Teacher Training Course

Lac Hong University recently hosted a comprehensive Master Teacher Training (MTT) course, conducted weekly on Saturdays from January 4th to January 18th, 2025. This professional development program aimed to equip faculty members with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in today's dynamic educational landscape. The course brought together a diverse group of educators, including newly recruited faculty members, experienced lecturers, and faculty from partner institutions.

Lecturers from both Lac Hong University and Hanoi University of Pharmacy attended the hybrid MTT course, contributing their expertise to a rich and diverse learning experience.

Course Objectives

The MTT course sought to:

  • Enhance pedagogical expertise: Empower faculty members with advanced teaching methodologies, including innovative approaches and best practices.
  • Foster technology integration: Equip faculty members with the skills and confidence to effectively utilize technology in their teaching, such as learning management systems, online platforms, and digital tools.
  • Cultivate a collaborative learning environment: Foster a sense of community among faculty members, encouraging knowledge sharing and peer learning.
  • Dr. Lam Thanh Hien, the Rector of Lac Hong University, gave a keynote speech on the transformative power of AI, highlighting its potential to revolutionize education.

    Course Curriculum

  • The MTT course covered a wide range of topics crucial for effective teaching in the 21st century, including:

  • MSc. Ngo Dinh Hoang Diem, Deputy Head of the Office of Educational Testing and Quality Assurance at Lac Hong University, presented on designing instructional activities aligned with Kolb's learning styles.

    Bloom's Taxonomy and Kolb's Learning Styles: Understanding different learning styles and tailoring teaching methods to cater to diverse learners.

  • Integrating technology in education: Utilizing educational technologies effectively, including learning management systems, interactive whiteboards, and online platforms.
  • Dr. Le Phuong Truong, Head of the Office of Educational Testing and Quality Assurance at Lac Hong University, provided insights into developing lesson plans based on Bloom's taxonomy, OBE and designing blended learning courses.

    Modern pedagogical approaches: Exploring contemporary teaching methodologies such as flipped classrooms, problem-based learning, and project-based learning.

  • Developing and utilizing digital resources: Creating and leveraging high-quality educational materials, such as online quizzes, interactive simulations, and multimedia presentations.
  • Blended learning methodologies: Designing and implementing effective blended learning programs that combine online and face-to-face instruction.
  • MSc. Van Dinh Vy Phuong, Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology at Lac Hong University, presented on the application of critical thinking and design thinking in integrated design.

    Design thinking and critical thinking: Cultivating higher-order thinking skills in students through innovative teaching strategies.

  • Artificial intelligence in education: Exploring the potential of AI tools in enhancing teaching and learning, including personalized learning and automated assessment.
    • AI-driven for change: Discussing how AI can revolutionize education by personalizing learning experiences, automating administrative tasks, and providing valuable insights into student learning.  
  • Impact and Future Outlook
